Common problems and solutions foam flooring for boats
Evamarinefloor is committed to providing high-quality foam flooring for boats. Based on our user research and feedback from customers who have purchased similar products on other shopping platforms, we have identified three key issues: fading, warping, and edge curling, and offer the following recommendations.
Regarding fading
Some users have found that after long-term use, the surface of EVA marine flooring may fade or lose its original luster, especially for brightly colored EVA marine flooring.

Origin:1、The product you purchased was defective; it was a low-quality product manufactured by the seller to save costs.
- Prolonged exposure to sunlight and seawater can cause products to fade naturally. Brightly colored products absorb more ultraviolet rays than lighter-colored products, so the fading is more noticeable.
Solution:1、Choose high-quality products with UV protection of 3000H+.
- You can purchase and use professional color-protecting agents to slow down the fading process.
- When a ship is moored for an extended period, a ship cover can be used to reduce direct sunlight and slow down the aging process caused by ultraviolet rays, or the ship can be stored in a warehouse.
- Regular cleaning of the ship’s deck can prevent the buildup of salt and chemicals that cause aging.
Regarding warping
An investigation revealed that some foam flooring for boat sometimes experiences problems such as bubbling, warping, and shrinkage.

Origin:High temperature exposure and improper installation
Solution:1、Avoid prolonged exposure to or proximity to extreme high-temperature environments such as open flames or barbecue grills.
2、To ensure proper installation, the substrate surface must be clean, dry, free of contamination, and properly treated before installation.
Regarding edge curling
We sometimes find that the edges of some foam flooring for boat sometimes curl up or even fall off.

Origin:1、Insufficient adhesive strength; some merchants on certain platforms use inferior adhesive to save costs, which can cause the flooring to easily detach.
2、The EVA boat floor was not used after installation because it was not allowed to fully adhere, causing water to seep in from the bottom and render the adhesive ineffective. Alternatively, the EVA boat floor was subjected to prolonged exposure to running water.
Solution:1、Before installation, ensure the substrate surface is clean, dry, and free of contamination, and allow it to settle for a period of time after installation before use.
2、If you find that part of it is warped, you can use a professional adhesive to repair it.
In short, before purchasing foam flooring for boats, you should consider its UV resistance and self-adhesive backing, and buy high-quality EVA foam decking. We are happy to answer your questions; please contact us if you have any further questions.
